Resource Assignment

Summary

In Project Operations, resource assignment refers to the process of allocating specific resources—such as individuals or teams—to particular tasks within a project. This ensures that the necessary skills and capacities are available to meet project requirements. Resource assignments can be made using methods like direct booking, where named resources are assigned to tasks, or through generic assignments.

Resource Assignment consists of cost price, sale price, allocated effort (in hours) and booked hours, organized by resource, task, and project.

Field level functional description

• CostEndDate: The end date for the cost rate applied to the resource assignment.
• CostPrice: The cost rate or price associated with the resource for the assignment.
• CostStartDate: The start date for the cost rate applied to the resource assignment.
• Hours: The total number of hours assigned to the resource for the project or task.
• msdyn_companyname: The name of the company associated with the resource assignment, as defined in the Dynamics system.
• msdyn_duration: The duration of the resource assignment, typically measured in hours or days.
• msdyn_finish: The scheduled finish date and time for the resource assignment.
• msdyn_projectid: The unique identifier for the project in the Dynamics system.
• msdyn_projectnumber: The project number as defined in the Dynamics system.
• msdyn_projecttaskid: The unique identifier for the project task in the Dynamics system.
• msdyn_projectteamidname: The name of the project team associated with the resource assignment.
• PlannedCost_: The planned cost amount for the resource assignment.
